Bob Friedman

CEO

Bungalow Media + Entertainment was founded by CEO Robert Friedman, a thirty-year veteran of the entertainment business where he developed, produced, and distributed all forms of filmed and experiential content across traditional and digital media platforms. Friedman has held an array of senior executive positions including President of Radical Media & Entertainment; President of AOL, Interactive Marketing, TV, & Ad Sales; Co-Chairman of New Line Cinema in charge of Worldwide Theatrical Marketing and Licensing and President of New Line Television, which he launched for the company. Friedman was an original member of the start-up team at MTV.

New Line Films included Lord of the Rings, Austin Powers, Dumb and Dumber, Rush Hour and a full slate of independent films among many others. In addition, Friedman has executive produced a varied mix of TV and films including Travel Channel’s “36 Hours”, Showtime’s “Spring Broke” documentary with Alex Gibney, Grey Gooses “Iconoclasts”, “We the People The Market Basket Effect” documentary, Amazon’s 30 Minute Comedy series “Highston”, OWN’S “Master Class” with Oprah Winfrey, and Paul Simon’s “Under African Skies” among many others.

Currently, Friedman serves on the boards of AccuWeather, Mount Sinai Health System, Columbia Graduate School of Business, NATPE, The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and is a trustee emeritus of Vassar College.

Megan Lawrence

SVP & Head of Unscripted Development

Megan Lawrence is the Senior Vice President and Head of Unscripted Development for Bungalow Entertainment. Based out of New York, she oversees development operations, including vetting all incoming submissions, generating concepts and selling content to distribution partners.

Prior to joining Bungalow Entertainment, Megan was Vice President of Programming and Development for Food Network and Cooking Channel where she spearheaded development and production of popular original programming such as Cake Wars, Cupcake Wars and Ayesha's Homemade -- Ayesha Curry's first linear television project.

Previously, Megan served as Senior Director of Development for WE tv where she was instrumental in developing a number of WE tv's most popular brand-defining series including Braxton Family Values, Mary Mary, Kendra on Top, L.A. Hair, Tamar & Vince, SWV: Reunited and the Marriage Boot Camp franchise.

Before her tenure at WE tv, Lawrence was a creative executive at The Weinstein Company managing their slate of television projects including the perennial hit series Project Runway and critically-acclaimed The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. Lawrence began her career in casting working on Extreme Makeover, The Biggest Loser, Beauty and the Geek and For Love or Money.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Production from USC's School of Cinematic Arts.

Mike Powers

Executive Producer, Head Of Production

Mike Powers is a 20 year veteran of production and development. Mike’s career started at MTV where he wrote, produced and directed a number of series and events. From 1999 through 2001, Mike oversaw “Total Request Live” as it became a cultural phenomenon. From there he went on to Executive Produce the first two seasons of MTV’s Emmy Award winning series "Made". In 2003, Mike helped launch MTV's East Coast Development department and shepherded shows like "Run’s House", "The X-Effect", “Maui Fever” and "Life Of Ryan" onto the air. In 2008, Mike became an independent producer and was an EP on a number of series including "College Life", "Sex With Mom And Dad", "The Buried Life" and "World Of Jenks" - which, at the time, was the highest rated series premiere in MTV’s history.

In 2011, Mike joined Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley as they launched DiGa eventually becoming SVP of Current Series. While at the company, Mike oversaw series and pilots for History, Oxygen, MTV, Logo and Lifetime.

Before joining Bungalow Media + Entertainment in 2015, Mike was an independent Showrunner on projects for Bravo, Oxygen, H2 and A&E.

Christie McConnell

Senior Vice President, Development

Christie McConnell is a seasoned creative executive and producer/director. Her experience spans documentary, live TV, podcasts, in-studio game shows, and apps. She got her start in unscripted television at City Lights Media, where she help launch the digital division, including the short form Emmy award-winning series, Book Obsessed and Webby-nominated The List. In the last decade, she has developed and produced award-winning and hit TV shows and specials like Shark Week Meets Shark Tank, Extreme Cheapskates and the Emmy award-winning The Men Who Built America.

McConnell has held various senior development positions at All3 Media, Shine America, and Stephen David Entertainment. Prior to joining Bungalow, she served as Head of Development for Radley Studios.

Nicole Ruben

Manager of Development & Production / Special Assistant to CEO

Nicole Ruben is a Development Coordinator and Assistant to the CEO, with experience in both scripted and unscripted content. Prior to joining Bungalow, started her career as an assistant in the TV Literary Department at ICM Partners. Most recently, she spent three years at Paramount Television where she was promoted to Manager of Scripted TV Development, after having spent a year and a half as Assistant to the President. During her time at Paramount, oversaw the TV studio's first-look deal with Condé Nast Entertainment, in addition to working on the development of shows such as, "13 Reasons Why," "The Alienist," and "Berlin Station."

Nicole graduated from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a B.A. in Television-Radio-Film.
